I have a surplus micro-SD card that I would like to redeploy in my
Android phone (a new toy for me).
It's the card that originally came with the Armini (Beagle). The boot
sector became corrupt, so I replaced the card with a new one,
preformatted by R-Comp.
How do I go about reformatting this surplus card for use by Android?
Have you thought about Fat32Formatter it dates from April 2014 and I think
I downloaded it from Jeff Doggett's Fat32Fs website. I've never actually
used it, but it might be worth a try.
All ARMini family machines / support schemes include !FAT32Form in the
Utilities.Caution folder. This is based on Jeff's program, but with a
friendly desktop front-end to ensure that you format the right drive! :)
However, I've noticed that just FAT32form-ing the disc can leave traces of
other partition tables etc on the drive, so it may be best to just let the
tablet/phone format it as needed.
If you search online for "Secure Erase SD card" you'll find a PC-based
formatter produced by the SD card association, which claims to clean
format SD cards too.
