Since the weekend, emails sent from Messenger Pro/Hermes on my ArmX6
are being rejected "for policy reasons" by btinternet.
Emails to anyone not on btinternet are OK, and emails to btinternet
from Messenger on a Windoews laptop seem to be OK. Both go via
Orpheusinternet servers.
Is anyone else seeing this, or does anyone have any suggestions?
I suspect this may be more subtle than you think. Check, for example,
that you're using the same "From" and other headers.
I ran into issues with Demon at one stage enabling some form of checking
(I think SPF-based?) which I had to request they disable, because it
caused problems (with any email client, not just Mpro).
I wonder if your Windows laptop uses your original Orpheus address or
something?
The other possibility is to force an IP address change (turn off router,
leave off for 30mins, turn on), just in case BT are blocking your IP due
to past abuse of that address.
If you'd like to discuss it privately, it'd be helpful to see a copy of
the rejection report and original emails, so that I can make a more
informed comment.
Kind wishes,
Andrew
