I don't think that is a valid comparison, though it is true that we are
more dependant then we should be, because procrastination by successive
governments has meant we do not have the network of nuclear power stations
that we should have.
An example. One of my daughters is back at university as a mature student
studying prosthetics and orthotics. She currently rents a room in a house
of multiple occupancy. The router is at the front of the house by the
front door and her room is at the back. The Wi-Fi signal is poor to
non-existant and her landlord is unlikely to appreciate me going up there
drilling holes through walls to put CAT5 cables through to her room.
