At this stage, my only goal is to understand what argyll's monitor profiles
parameters are.
You're right about my ambient lighting not being anything like D65. I come from
a D50 "print", prepress proofing world. So my life hangs at the juncture of a
lithographic press and Epson printers, throw in a monitor or two and you get
the complete picture.
I only currently set my monitor to D65 to explore chromatic adaptation for
myself. Otherwise, I always set my monitor white point to D50, or something
that matches the appearance of proofs under some kind of light booth. There's a
lot ot be said about what works and what not.
I have some spare time these days so I like to dabble into programming ;-)
