there's not a whole lot of meaning in a scanner profile "gamut", since an input
device has no fixed limits. It will convert any and every spectral reflectance
into some device values. Trying to run the profile the other direction in an
attempt
to map the device range limits into colors typically results in a lot of
nonsense,
since you are probably out into extrapolation and imaginary colors.
