You might try to linearize Gutenprint to dump as much ink as the paper
can stand (as per your post), and then generate a profile which
actually performs the ink limitation. Monaco will allow you to set ink
limitation in a CMYK profile, I cannot remember whether PMP and
Basiccolor do it. If you can print and measure a chart, I will be
delighted to run profiles for you.
