[argyllcms] Oddity when saving .sp files from spotread

I'm trying to use spotread -e from 1.8.3 (although the same problem
happens from 1.7.0) with a ColorMunki Spectro. I switch to high
resolution mode, and then calibrate using the internal tile, then
measure a patch (in this case, a white patch on an LCD screen).

Saving the spectra to monitor.sp gives me a spectra file with some
negative numbers. I've attached it, but the important part is:

-0.000548854 -0.000684541 -0.000832648 0.000755904 0.0131362....

I'm not sure how we can have a negative spectral values :) Is this a
bug, is my device out of calibration, or have I misunderstood
something? Thanks.

Richard
