Guys, I worked in prepress for years and managed the introduction of "Press
Proofing", using Eizo's and NEC's at the press consoles, to simulate real, hard
copy proofs, and, while it was not "perfect", I was able to tweak the Media
White Points of those D50 calibrated 30" LCD monitors to yield reasonable
visual matches.
So, it's not like it can't be done.
