I am getting my feet wet into the < world of television >.
I see different "home" packages designed for "calibrating an HDTV" through
the HDMI port (on a PC).
I wonder, is there a difference as far as dispcal is concerned where the
video ouput is sent?
I have a setup where my PC is connected to my SAMSUNG tv thorugh the HDMI
port.
One of my (too) numerous questions is, is 8-bits RGB data the same for my
digital tv as it is for my NEC 27" display, connected to my PC through the
DVI port?
I mean, if RGB = 0,0,0 or 128,128,128 or 255,255,255 is sent to the HDMI
port of my (Nivdia) video card, is is safe to assume that the signal
produced is comparable to signal from any other "sources", such as off a
BlueRay Player?
