It sounds to me like you created a .ti1 file (using targen ?)
that has the wrong color space. For a display it is expected to
be RGB (targen -d3). Check what value COLOR_REPS has in the .ti1
file (it's a text file).

The error message talks about COLOR_REPS but in .ti1 the keyword is
COLOR_REP
