Admittedly this is not a solution for applying DNG profiles to TIFF, but one alternate solution would be to have your scanning software output a raw DNG file. For example VueScan allows you to do this. I've experimented with this by scanning the ColorChecker Passport and then creating a DNG profile from the raw scan. Now I can simply output a DNG file from VueScan, open this in ACR and apply the DNG profile. Works like a charm and accurately too (atleast, that's what examining the output seems to indicate).
Right, I use Vuescan and its "RAW" output. B&W negatives.Done that too for reflective originals and with Color Checker passport calibration though in that case the Epson V700 scanner lamp spectrum + the CC patches is not an ideal combination. It worked nice on some originals but when I put a HP Vivera printer calibration target with 7 hues inkjet pigments through the same route 3 pigments were way off in color. I think the V700 is more made for photo CMY dyes than the older Epson 3200 scanner was, with the last I could scan reflective originals quite good with the basic Vuescan tools.
