I'm sure it's a higher quality, more capable instrument. But is
the improvement worthwhile for most people ?

I did profile it against my i1pro2 yesterday, and yes it does seem to
vary significantly more against that than my i1d3 does for the output
from the display I was profiling (JVC D-ILA panel + UHP lamp
projector), in both chroma and luma readings. So perhaps not that
useful unless it has matrices for your display or you have the
spectro.
The difference in low luminance reading and inter instrument agreement is not
night and day, the measurement is much slower. Personally I had sold it and
kept using i1D3.
I'm profiling a projector with very dark black level (<0.003cd/m2
without dynamic iris) and for that it seems to have some tangible
benefits - it seems to more reliably return readings low down, which
is nice for the workflow and gives useful contrast measures. The
speed seems pretty good in Lightspace - average about 1500 patches /
hr with 0.5s delay. I know Calman has issues with speed and this
meter.
