How would I solve this issue? I may not be technically correct, but I would assume that the nVidia tool does not change brightness of the display, but does change the settings of vcgt of the graphics card - most probably just gamma. Then, argyllcms wants to calibrate the display using changes in the graphics card, too, which overrides what nVidia tool originally set. This is probably an expected behaviour. What you should aim for, is first calibrate your lcd using hardware knobs (I doubt there are any apart from backligt brightness on the notebook), then let argyllcms do some further calibration using changes in the video card. I.e., do not do any adjustments in the nVidia tool. Regards, Milan Knizek knizek (dot) confy (at) volny (dot) cz http://www.milan-knizek.net - About linux and photography (Czech language only)
