I support postponing our meeting to the breakout at the 6/11 general
meeting so people can go to the rally. At the breakout we need to
choose our leaders to represent our working group on the executive
committee, and we'll need to set the next working group meeting time.

for Sunday’s Portland Stands United Against Hate rally. I
encourage all of you to join us at the rally, and to help spread
the word about it. Safety was a major topic of conversation at
the meeting, as you might expect. Organizers have met with Mayor
Wheeler and a representative of the police department. This rally
is permitted. The police will form a line on the outside of our
rally and another line on the outside of the right-wing extremist
rally. So there will be two lines of police officers and a lane
of traffic between the two groups. Our rally is expressly
intended to be non-violent. The intention is to show Portland’s
opposition to racism and bigotry through our numbers. A big
turnout is key.Two other rallies are also being planned that

closer to the right-wing rally, as well as another group who

and hold the plaza to try to keep the far-right out. Portland DSA
