Thanks for a good meeting, sorry for the delay on the notes!
Jep, Brian, Taryn, Ledena, Seth, Jenny, Madi, Ryland, and Jory were in
attendance, Scott joined late.

Ladina passed out "How can we create an inclusive and equitable planning
process?" which we read together and then discussed (This reading is
available on the Google Drive if you were not there).
One of the big questions we had, and found some answers to, was "What is it
that we will do when we sit down together for a meeting?"
-We want facilitation to rotate - facilitation is just taking care of the
agenda, and keeping us on track. Our plan for making the agenda is that
we'll talk a little about the next meeting's agenda at each meeting, we
will have a Google doc where we can add agenda items in between meetings
(please write your name next to your proposed agenda item if you are
comfortable doing so), and then at the top of the meeting, the facilitator
will go through the proposed agenda and we'll agree on it.

-We want to focus locally - within the DSA, county, city, and state
-We want to support existing anti-racism orgs, and in a way be a liaison
between them and the DSA - i.e. bring their events/issues to the DSA at
large for support.
-Ledena, Jep, and Adrienne will be researching what orgs are out there
(Power mapping is part of this)
-Adrienne will also be checking with other DSA anti-racism groups to see
how they are structured.
-We're interested in ways we can be a part of other work groups within the
DSA to see how we can bring an anti-racism lens to their work. Ryland will
be attending the Legislative work group's breakout meeting at the next DSA
general meeting to see what they're working on and how they do it.
-There are a variety of documents on the Drive that would be good to read
before the general meeting. Specifically, please read "Sharing the Lessons
Learned" from the Western States Center.

-Also, there is a doc on the Drive for us to start brainstorming our core
values and goals, from which we will eventually develop a mission
statement. Please go there and write something!

-We'd like to develop, along with our mission statement, a suggested
reading list for new members, which will include documents about the DSA as
well a foundational anti-racism texts. We also want to make a
joining/introductory document to help orient people when they join.
-We discussed how our work can fit into the DSA's commitment to focusing on
the budget. We didn't have any concrete answers, but still is something to
think about. How can we make sure that revenue proposals are racially
equitable?
-Adrienne is putting together a contact sheet for this group. We would also
like to have a list of the work groups in the DSA and contact info for
their leaders - can someone volunteer to work on that, or find out if it
already exists?
-We discussed the importance of following bills and legislation. Jenny has
volunteered to focus on following and reporting back to the group about
county legislation. We would love to have folks following city, state
senate, and state house legislation.
-Two bills came up that we're interested in supporting. Please read them

-We had a short conversation about information security - please remember
that none of the ways in which we are communicating is truly secure or
private, except when we talk in person.
-We talked about the BLM march in Seattle on April 15th. Jenny is going to
create a rideshare Google doc, and we're going to talk about it at the
general meeting, including inviting the DSA at large to come. Jory is going
to reach out to the Seattle DSA to see if they're marching and if we can
march with them.
Next meeting:
Next DSA general meeting will be at the Sunnyside Community house on Sunday
the 9th, new member orientation at 1:10, meeting at 1:30. We'll have a 20
minute breakout meeting. See google doc for current agenda items.
The next Anti-Racism specific meeting will probably be Sunday the 23rd at
the Ford Building (this will be officially scheduled at the breakout
meeting). We plan to have an intro to Slack workshop, among other things,
at this meeting.
