Hi all, Here are some local resources for you to get plugged into or for our consideration as a congregation. Best, Wilson # # # Take clothing to Goodwill and food to Capital Area Food Bank--volunteers are reportedly now being utilized at the Berger Center. MAP: http://makeashorterlink.com/?I24F429BB HOUSING: Call Austin Access. So far 1300 homes have opened their doors. They can still use more. Call 440-7965. Alternatively, visit MoveOn.org¹s site: www.hurricanehousing.org CLOTHING: Goodwill is handling clothing for victims at any of their Austin locations. The Burgher Center, I heard, did not want clothing donations -- take them to Goodwill. FOOD: Capital Area Food Bank is handling ALL food donations in Austin. Need donations AND volunteers. <http://www.austinfoodbank.org>, 282-2111. Also might need volunteers at: WIC (Women & Infant Children) Program -- there are 700 clinics stations throughout Texas who are helping women with small children. Call 1-800-942-3678. RED CROSS: -Red Cross needs a caterer (that would be paid) who has the capacity to serve 5,000 meals, 3-times a day. They are trying to contact Sodhexo (who does food already at the Erwin Center, Dell and other large venues), but are seeking others in case Sodexho cannot handle alone. IF WE KNOW ANY CATERERS THAT CAN HANDLE THIS VOLUME LET ME KNOW. -Red Cross has immediate need of 5,000 cots. These could be Army issue cots, air mattresses, etc, that could be used to sleep on. Email me with ideas or contacts. # # #
