Hi everyone,
Happy New Year! The sound team has made improvements over 2019
making the setup a lot easier. There is a small group of us that share
the setup, sound monitoring and take down each Sunday. We are wondering
if there is anyone that would like to join us in the rotation. If you are
interested, please let Steve hochstetler know.
What are the duties?
Flipping some power switches, fresh batteries in mics, adjusting volume
during service with tablet in your hand. Powering down sound system
afterwards.
Details below..
1 - Before church services, putting recharged batteries into the two
microphones. The batteries you take out of microphones you should put into
charger.
2 - put the podium mike on podium, keep the handheld close to you, (usually
on floor, not on a blue chair where it can fall off)
3 - (a) go to sound cabinet and turn on power with red switch in front.
(b) Turn on power strip that powers speakers
(please do these things in this order so we don't get a pop in the
speakers)
4 - power up the tablet and start the X11 app. When it comes up, select
'Connect'
5 - In the App make sure the podium mike is not muted.
6 - test the sound at the podium mike
During the service
1 - Using the tablet, adjust the volume/sensitivity based on how softly
different people talk. Adjust it downward if you hear some echoing.
2 - during sharing, in tablet unmute the handheld mike and pass it around
after you power it up. When sharing is done, power it off again
After the service
1 - return tablet and two microphones to closet in Lee's office.
2 - Plug tablet into power.
3 - go upstairs and power off the speakers (power strip). Then power off
using the red switch, the sound cabinet.
