Dear Usama,

Thank you for your e-mail. This was the first alert I had that this
terrible accident happened. West, Texas is about two hours north of
Austin, so we are not physically affected by the blast.

The authorities were evacuating people from a large area around West late
last night, according to the news story I watched on-line. It seemed to be
quite windy so the threat to the larger area is unpredictable.
Unfortunately, three people were confirmed to have died and over 100 people
have been injured, including some firefighters. Today, Texas is supposed
to get rain, including the area that has been affected.

Thank you so much for your prayer support for all affected by this blast!
The world is definitely becoming more close-knit as we make connections and
form relationships with others around the world.

Blessings to you in your ministry!
Pat Hochstetler, on behalf of Austin Mennonite Church
