Hi everyone,Please let me know if you would like to make a donation for the mentioned MCC project and cannot attend the Relief Sale next Saturday. I am happy to deliver your donations for the peace project in Guatemala. Please see the attached note for more details. If you can get me a check this Sunday, that works. If you happen to forget or don't have a chance to see me tomorrow then just tell me what you want to donate and I will donate in your name (so I can get a receipt for you) and you can give it to me afterwards.
Blessings, Steve Hochstetler

Greetings to all, As we typically do, during the auction at next Saturday's Relief Sale we will ask for donations toward a particular MCC project. In the past, some people have expressed an interest in knowing about the project before the Sale so they can give it some thought. So please pass this information along to others in your congregations. This year, we will sell the "All God's Children Peace Candleholder" that was made by Dwight Kaufman from Ohio using multiple colors of wood from several continents. He originally made one candleholder as a reminder to people in his own congregation to pray for peace. He has since made one for each of the 46 Relief Sales in the US and Canada. (A photo is on our web site at www.texasreliefsaleorg<http://www.texasreliefsale.org/> -- click on "Auction Items") After selling the candleholder, we will ask for donations for a peacebuilding project in Guatemala. As you know, Guatemala suffered through 36 years of civil war and the people there are still experiencing the social, economic, political and emotional consequences of that conflict. A new generation of children and youth is coming of age in a land where violence continues to be common, where there is a lack of safe places for recreation, and the development of their talents, gifts and creativity is often stifled. MCC is partnering with churches in Guatemala to support a school that includes a program of cultural formation, recreation, music, and promotes the development of creativity, thinking, good use of free time and the construction of peace in their society. Over 100 students are currently enrolled in 2 locations and they are seeking to expand the program because of the high level of interest. We will be accepting donations to support this project. Thank you for helping to get the word out. I hope to see many of you next weekend.
