*Scripture texts for worship this coming Sunday, October 12, 2014:*

   1. Job 23:1-17
   2. Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
   3. 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 - If I speak in the tongues of mortals and of
angels, but do not have love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And
if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge,
and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I
am nothing. If I give away all my possessions, and if I hand over my body
so that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

*Sharing of Joys and Concerns from Sunday, Oct 5:*

   - Clayton - Hannah is an AmeriCorps worker helping with a Texas literacy
program here in Austin. The program has initiated a new effort called PALS,
a coach parenting program and is short on volunteers to staff the program.
The difficult launch has added a significant load to Hannah's work as she
transitions from AmeriCorps next month and looks for other opportunities in
the Austin area. The PALS program especially needs bi-lingual volunteers.

   - Dama - thank you for prayers for her grandchildren. Eddy Senior's two
young adult children from Belize - Eddy Junior and Shahirie - have been
able to come to Round Rock and live with him after months of waiting.
   - Stacey B. - her friend/coworker, Anna, is waiting results of tests for
   possible cancer.
   - Peggy - her mother needs 24/7 care and Peggy has been able to find a
capable person to assist for several days during the week.
   - Michael Shirk - his son who has been in an eating disorder treatment
program in California has been uncooperative with the treatment and is
being discharged. Michael is struggling how to respond in the most helpful
   way.

TELL YOUR FRIENDS!! INVITE PEOPLE!!
Remember the Benefit Concert this coming Saturday, October 11, 2014, 5:30
p.m. at the Austin Mennonite Church featuring the musical duo Storyman -
http://storymanmusic.com/waltzing-alone/ They are also performing at the
Cactus Cafe on Aug 10. Thanks to Miguel Ferguson for inviting this duo
(his cousins) to help raise funds for Trinity Child Development Center as
it begins its 50 year celebration.

Dama Torres and family will also be serving empanadas at the event and
selling bulk orders of her internationally acclaimed Belizean tamales. The
Torres had their new commercial mower stolen recently and we would like to
help them raise funds to make up for their loss. Let's be generous with
CDC and the Torres family.

Storyman is the songwriting partnership of Kevin May and Mick Lynch. Both
hail from Ireland and first achieved success as members of the band The
Guggenheim Grotto. They released their first album as Storyman, entitled
This Time Round, on November 12, 2013. They will have CD's and other items
for sale after the performance.
