Cindy, I understand what you are saying. I see this from time to time and it is a result of the operator(s) lifting up when they remove the hoops, over time. Remember to only lift the thumb pieces and not the entire hoop and hoop arms when removing the hoops/garments from the machine. If you find that your hoop arms are too high, then simply push down on them until they are in a position where when a hoop is on the machine, the underside of the hoop touches the top of the bobbin arm (also known as the sewing arm). Do not bend them down so much that there is an unnecessary amount of pressure on the bobbin arm. The hoop should just lightly touch the bobbin arm and any other weight will be from the weight of the garment being sewn. PS. It is not the trimmer that is touching the hoop arms. It is referred to as the grabber blade. And all that does is tuck the thread tails up into the velcro strips which is all a part of the Grabber Assembly. Hope this helps.
