Hi Margret, I did use spray adhesive to hold the pieces in place. My cover stitch and zig zag underlay are wide enough to catch everything. I just feel more comfortable having a nice walk stitch around everything to keep the applique from pulling out after being wash lots of times. This is going on a sweatshirt and I know it will be worn a lot. I've had the trouble of the applique piece pulling out ater washing several times on things that didn't have a good stable walk stitch around it before the cover stitch. I know I can do all this manually but everything else is stitching out great and I know that this software and machine is capable of doing this. I just don't know what I am doing wrong. Thanks, Susan --- Alan and Margaret Jannuzzi <Wishesinstitches@xxxxxxx> wrote: > Dear Sue, I had this problem last week when I was > doing a very large > design. 18 inches tall.
