Hi Roland, When you have a column it is easy to zoom in and use the Ruler to measure the stitches, but with a fill it is usually a problem with the automatic underlay. At the beginning of the underlay it may make a long stitch to move where the underlay will start. Many times this is controlled by the In and Out points of the fill. Sometimes moving one or the other will shorten that stitch. I usually find these stitches by zooming in and then using the Stitches TAB in the tree on the right side of Design Shop, and clicking on a stitch in the Stitches tree and then using the down arrow key on the keypad to go through the stitches in the area that is giving the problem. Once I find the stitch that is giving the problem, if it is underlay, then I change a parameter so the software changes that stitch. Usually it is a In or Out point of the fill, but sometimes it may be one of the parameters for the underlay like the angle, or length of stitch etc. Jeff Banks Melco Embroidery Systems ----- Original Message ----- From: "Roland R. Or is this where something in the designshop setup where you set 'column width', stitch length, etc.? I never set anything even over 30 pt lenght, except for some underlayment I might set, or default is set- to 60. Where or how would a 112 length occur? I get that Y error also and I think it has shown up in 'fill patterns' and I end up changing to a different fill to avoid it after it happens. Also, can't remember if it was a Y or X tracking error-but it occured on a hat where there was a long 'oval' with a satin fill background-and it was the satin stitch length-that screwed the machine up. Had to go with a #18 fill I think-the hat setup just cannot handle any satin stitch over 1/4" I think we figured out. Before everyone yells at me for the satin stitch-it gets totally held down with fine lettering over it-on the shirts it sewed beautifully and not a single problem. Was going to the hat that screwed it up-too many things for the AMaya to handle at once. Locating these long stitches in the design and reducing their length is the work around. Janel Harris Dimensional Designs http://www.dimdesigns.com DesignShop Digitizing Melco On-site Training
