That symptom may or may not be related to the Hall error you mentioned. When
you say the thread is coming out of the needle....is it sewing any stitches at
all? Is it breaking the thread after a few stitches?
Have you checked the hook timing?
Is it giving you the Hall error everytime the thread pulls out/breaks/stops
stitching?
How old is this machine?
Is it a Big Red or an XT?
Is it still under warranty?
