[amayausers] Will DS Lite work?

Hi all,
I am considering getting some form of DS. I may only need Lite at the moment
but I may need a different level. The future may hold digitizing but I am in
most need of putting a shadow on lettering (not the manual kind where you
sew each letter twice, but with the reduction of the underletter--does that
make sense?). Will Lite do this?
