Linda, I've had to sew existing designs with metallic quite a bit. I haven't digitized with it very much yet, with that said, you can make the density higher than a normal satin of 4, try a 5 or 5.5. The metallic thread is thicker than our regular thread so you don't need as much of it. Underlay depends on the garment ( in my experience ) I'd go with knit block or plain old block. Keep away from the fonts with serifs - Athletic, Aachen. With a size needed of .35 you'll need to make sure to increase the column widths also, try at least 120% maybe 130%. Good luck.
