My Amayas each came with a small bag of spare parts
and just recently I found out what the under thread presser foot
was that you spoke of.
So, you should have a spare and it is pretty easy to replace
and adjust. replacement is just 2 Allen head screws
after removing the needle plate.
Look around I bet you may have one.

Subject: [amayausers] Under thread presser?1

Hello, Fellow Amayacites,

Here's one I don't remember hearing about:

I keep getting thread breaks, changed needles, changed rollers, changed
thread, changed designs, thickness, ???
The thread breaks occur after the thread cutter fails.

I took off the needle plate cover and found lots of thread not visible
from the bobbin area, but clearly building a rats nest hidden under the
plate.
When I carefully remove each piece of thread and start sewing again, the
cutter works just fine for a while. Then thread breaks, needleplate off,
rats nest building in secret, remove threads, put plate back on and resume
just fine.....

I'm suspecting two variables, either the blade needs replaced or sharpened
or the thingy under it, that the manual calls the under thread presser is
not working correctly. I'm assuming it presses the thread up to the cutter.

The manual says, "If the under thread presser is not touching the
adjustable fixed knife, it needs to be replaced or adjusted: contact Melco
Technical Support."

Anyone else experience this?

If it's the presser, shouldn't I be able to order the part and just put it
in? or is it really complicated and require special tools?

Thanks in advance for any info/advise, you may offer!
