If not, do so. Also, while you have the knife and it's carrier off the trimmer housing block assembly, do a through cleaning and put two or three drops of oil on top of and in the selector channel. See if this helps the situation before making any other adjustments to the machine. Make sure you are hooping tautly, presser foot is down where it is suppose to be, auto lower limit settings are not to high, etc...all of these can affect the trimming functions with these trimmers....
