Luann....you ain't seen NOTHIN' yet!
We also own a lingerie/adult novelty shop....and you would not
BELIEVE how many women come in that state 'I want THAT skimpy little
french maid outfit....size large...I ALWAY wear large'.....and I
would easily guess she is a queen XX....250# at least.
Or the ones that are 95# soaking wet with boots on...trying to fit
into an XS bikini...with their 42DD's....yup, that was one of our
customers from hell...NOTHING fit her. Bottoms from the kids section
at Kmart, tops from the queen size rack! LOL
But for shirts...your 'normal' what you call MEN'S shirts are UNISEX
size, made for anyone to wear. Woman's wear is tapered and cut to fit
a narrower shoulder, narrow waist, but compared to men,
proportionally wider chest. So a Large in womens is not a Large in
mens. Tell them to compare shoe sizes...same deal. There is NO
consistency in american clothing sizes-no law says a size 8 from Nike
is a size 8 from Reebok...only in Europe-where all sizing is METRIC
and conforms to actual foot length. We used to sell clogs...that's
how I learned. Over here, a Men's size 8 is not a Women's size 8, is
not a Kid's size 8....same with shirts.
As my guru in signmaking, Butch 'Superfrog' Anton says in his
seminars..."Customers are as dumb as bricks".....gotta lov 'em!
Have fun....
Roland
