Hey All- On the presser foot... It was all the way up, and there was no play between it and the hat fabric. I was in maintence mode and had the needle in the bottom center as I would when checking to see how things look before sewing out any garment. If the presser foot was all the way up and I still got the "material burn", what should I look for. As far as structured or unstructured... I am not sure what that means. They are baseball caps. Guess I need a little help or need to look up the term ;) We had a complex logo to embroider, and I think I am going to have to pass on that one for now. We do it fine on t-s and polos but the hat's gonna take some fiddling with to get right. I then tried a simpler design with just some lettering and a small stock design which ran better but still had the issues I described. If it is structured we run it with the pressure foot all the way up. Not quite so far for unstructured. What you are describing as worn I think everyone refers to as material burn and it means the it is hitting too much and should be raised. We also ran some hats today and the material thickness on them was a 12. We adjusted the bobbin thickness a little bit tighter so the top was not loose and just right. Hope this helps some as we don't have years of experience ourselves. Just coming up on one for us. How to set up properly etc. We did our first venture into the fun world of hats today and while not a failure, we weren't a rousing success either. I'm a little confused about the presser foot. It said to either run it all the way up or just touching as we normally do. Well, I went to adjust it and it appears that moving the wheel up or down had no effect at all. Simply put, with the head down, down looked the same as up. Can't figure that out. Also, we ran the fabric setting on 9 initially, and that was way too loose. Backed it off to 7 and it looked ok, but it almost looks like the fabric is getting worn from sewing... Maybe the presser foot is slamming into it. What kind of sounds should we hear? The WACF seems to be a bit noisier. Of course, we are using the raised needle plate as well as recommended. I just feel like I am forgetting something. We re watched the instruction videos though... Any suggestions for digitizing for caps?
