I got permission to do the Busch Light logo for Anheiser for a lady that is
sponsored by them for bass fishing. We put the logo on her seats in her
boat. I do embroidery for seats for about 8 local boat manufacturing
companies (mostly 1 upholsterer does the work for all of them). I takled to
the people in the legal department who in turn send me written permission
along with a CD containing 100's of variations of their logos.

I have never went after anything as far as a major college whree you have to
pay a fee up front and then a percentage of your sales usually as well. I
have a few customers that are in pretty tight with Nike and they get all
kinds of free hats, shirts, jackets, etc... and have me put additional
logos on them for golf tourneys or school sports type logos.

As Ed was saying in his post, you can never be too careful and if you have a
question just say "NO", its not worth risking your business over.
