I have a different take on the power outage thing,
We don't get many power issues but we just have
a cheap $68 bucks unit for the computer only.
like mentioned earlier the monitor isn't plugged in
since it sucks the battery dry quickly.
when the machines go down from a power outage.
I go over and swap plugs on the monitor so I
can dictate how much time I use for it.
I make a note on each head running
of the stitch count and the X,Y axis.
then I unplug the monitor, we haven't
had any machine down longer than 10 minutes
but once they are back we use the return to last origin
setting in the Amaya OS and got to the move menu
and enter the stitch number we noted and haven't lost
a garment yet. Remember don't take the hoops
out of the machines or recenter or make any changes until
things are reset and working.

Works for us, may not be the text book answer, but I don't like the
thought of running a machine to the end of a design on the backup,
that is only designed for emergencies, We've had some important
deadlines but never so tight that I couldn't wait until the power came back.

Of course this might be different if it happened more often.
