Actually I had the same thing happend and it would seem fine after I re-powered
the machine, then would sew one design and do the same thing again. I finally
called Melco Tech Support and spoke with a very helpful person name Curtis.
Curtis had me do some things with the software and actually delete a couple of
directories that OS rebuilds. However, I would suggest you do the same thing,
call tech support. My problem was that there was actually a job still showing
in process, or so the software thought. The major things was that I had the
"Hoop out at end" set and that it seems still has a software glitch. Curtis
had me turn that off and I haven't had the problem again.

Did you reset the OS before loading the design?
Sometimes if I forget to do this my XT will do flaky
things like that. First thing I try is the same thing
you did and that usually lets me keep going to finish
the sew out. Then I reset and reload before going on
with the rest of the job.
