Lori,
I deleted your question, but you said you had a laptop which keeps turning off
after a certain amount of time, and you have to press the power button to
reboot.
I can't be sure of the definite cause, but I would suggest you go into the
control panel and check 'power options.'
Your laptop might be programmed to go to standby or shut down after a certain
amount of time.
My laptop never makes a sound when it goes into standby, but that may be a
feature of your model.
Just a suggestion. I hope it helps.
