speaking of which, here's an ACWE concert program from March 1998 with at least
4 current members, including Robert Laguna in the trumpet section.

I'm all for these tokens of appreciation and showing we value long standing
membership! I think it would be nice to recognize members individually for
their time and efforts and a small keepsake like a pin or certificate is a nice
gesture. How do we plan on tallying current membership and keeping track of
membership time moving forward (some people come and go as time allows)?
Maybe we could have a membership recognition ceremony when we return to regular
rehearsals for the people who have been with us for a long while?
We have time now to think about this and plan for it. I think the yearly
ceremony is a nice idea moving forward. We could provide some refreshments
(baked goods/drinks) as well if we were to have the ceremony dedicated to say
the last 30 min or so of a Tuesday rehearsal. Likely a good way to get the
most people in attendance. Possibly mid-spring season?
Thoughts to ponder!

I really like the pin idea! Our logo could look really nice on a pin, and it
would make a nice keepsake. Probably a little more wearable than an ACWE
cardigan in Austin. 😉
Something we could also consider: certificates of appreciation at 5 years?
Maybe a framed certificate at 15? The certificates would be fairly inexpensive
to print, and you can buy pretty decent frames in bulk at a good price, too.

Hey guys,
I think it may have largely gone unnoticed in the chatter about cardigans, but
Melissa proposed award pins as something we might consider for long-term
members. I think I like the idea. It may be a little corporate—God knows I have
a few pins around from different companies I’ve worked for—but it’s something
members could wear to concerts and the like while still matching the dress code.
I did a little digging around, and these kinds of pins aren’t terribly
expensive. I was thinking something like this:
https://signaturepins.com/die-struck-pins We could even consider doing ;
different styles/sizes/finishes for different tenures, like 10 and 25 years.
(Another Melissa suggestion).
