Hi Jessica.
IBook's is fully accessible with VO, in fact I read on average 3-4 full
length novels using VO and IBook's every week. When in the main interface,
you have the library and store buttons, a search box to search your library,
a couple of buttons for sorting your books in to a list or grid and then a
series of tabs which take you to different parts of the app, as well as an
edit button which lets you choose the types of books shown in your library,
as IBook's can read PDF files you download or receive by other means as
well. I suggest you download a free book first, the adventures of Sherlock
Holmes, Jain Air and plenty of literary classics are available all
completely free to download and will give you good opportunity to
familiarise yourself with the reading interface which I will summarise here
also. When you open a book, you have from the top left, you have the
library button which takes you back to your library, the table of contents
button which allows you to select from chapters or any bookmarks you may
have inserted, also it lets you annotate any bookmarks with notes, the
appearance button which allows you to adjust various visual reading options,
search which lets you search the text for a specific word, phrase or other
text entry string, add bookmark which is self explanatory then the reading
area. The reading area is where the text of the book appears, once you're
focused on this, flick up with two fingers to start continuous reading from
the current position, you can also use the left/right three finger flicks to
turn to the next and previous pages respectively. Finally, the last control
you can interact with is the page chooser, this is a vertical list control
which allows you to swiftly progress through the pages of the book, useful
if you are looking for a particular page you haven't bookmarked and it works
like other list controls, that is to say a single flick with one finger up
or down will move page by page.

and this will all become second nature to you in time.

Hi. Last time I tried to use iBooks, I could not figure out how
to turn the pages or get vo to read the book or how to navigate
by chapter or anything. Am I doing something wrong or does iBooks
not work with vo? It's kind of hard to believe it does not work
with vo because it is developed by apple. So I must be doing
something wrong. I tried everything and could not make it work so
I deleted it, but there is a book in the iBooks store that I
really want to read and can not find anywhere else. The book I
want is 10 dollars, but I do not want to get it only to find I
can not navigate or read the book. Is there any free books I can
get to try iBooks before I buy my 10 dollars book? Also, do only
some iBooks work with vo or can you read all books in the store
using vo. Thank you.
