I have noticed this too, especially after the update we have just had.
Maybe they will bring out another update which will fix this.

Subject: accessible-iOS Messages falsely claiming to be from VIP senders

HI all,
Ever since iOS7, some mail messages claim to be from VIP senders. I know
that's not right, though, both because I see the address is not set as a VIP
and because I never use the VIP feature. Does anyone know what might be
going on? It's not a big deal, but it is rather odd. Thanks.
