Those settings are not in the calendar app itself. They are in settings under mail, contacts and calendar.

Hi Tiffany,

I€셫 not seeing the Repeat, Alert, Second Alert or Invite after entering the start and end times. How do I access this to tell the calendar when I want to be notified?

Hi Cindy,

I'm not sure where you got that you can not have notifications for events ahead of time with the native Calendar app. I have an iPhone 5 running IOS 7.0.3 and I just added an event next month. It is all the same stuff, title, location, start time, end time, repeat, invite, alert, second alert. My calendar events remind me either 1 day before as well as 1 hour before the event as I have specified in my calendar.

I recently read a post on this list about a calendar app which could be used in place of the calendar feature on the iPhone 5. I think it was since IOS 7 came out, but can't remember, for sure. In any case, since there doesn't seem to be a way to receive notifications of calendar appointments or events, ahead of time, does anyone know of an app which works like the calendar used to work. I like to enter appointments and then schedule a notification a day or two ahead of time, in some cases, so I can plan for transportation.

 Thanks.
