Individuals who are totally blind with recurrent sleep or napping problems are needed for a survey and/or clinical study. For each completed survey, a donation of $25 will be made to organizations that support people with blindness. Participants in a clinical study will be compensated for their time and effort and will receive study medication, study-related medical evaluation and transportation at no cost. Sleep problems and napping occur in some individuals who are totally blind. This can be caused by the lack of light needed to reset the “body clock”. The result is recurrent sleep problems similar to jet lag. Nature's Finest Bounty Offers Organic Coffee, Seeks to Showcase Products Made by the Blind Nature's Finest Bounty is a new website offering both premium organic coffee and an opportunity for blind and visually impaired entrepreneurs. The coffee is available in ten flavors and is available in both whole bean and ground form. Money raised benefits the National Federation of the Blind of Michigan. In addition, the site is looking to sell products made by blind entrepreneurs ranging from preserves and soaps to music and artwork. Then in 1995, the name was changed to Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic to reflect the serving of additional communities. But now, the mention of any sort of disability has been removed, and the nonprofit is simply known as Learning Ally. "Our members have expressed loud and clear that they don’t wish to be labeled or typecast with a specific ‘disability.’ They just want the same opportunities to succeed that others enjoy. Our new name goes to the heart of supporting their desire to learn and achieve," commented President and CEO Andrew Friedman. The name was selected after months of research and focus groups, and is accompanied by anew website at learningally.org. Learning Ally serves over 300,000 individuals with learning differences and reading disabilities. Fun fact: The original incorporated name for Learning Ally was National Committee for Recording for the Blind. 3.
