turn off recognize columns before reading material where you want text read across the screen where columns would otherwise be read straight down.

The setting is found in the scanning settings. The short cut sequence is,
hold the alt key while executing these commands.
alt g followed by c followed by z. Release alt and press enter to close the dialog and accept the settings change. You will usually want this item checked but for reading as you wish to read, you will want it unchecked. I haven't experimented with this setting. I don't know if you need to scan a page over again to have columns not recognized or if the page that already exists will be displayed differently. You will have to experiment. I would advise that you look through the settings available in Openbook and read the context sensative help available for those that interest you. It's a good way to learn about the program. Open the settings dialog. tab through the settings, use shift f1 to open and read context sensative help for a field you are interested in. then press escape, continue to tab and read context sensative help for other fields of interest. Once you get back to where you started, use control tab to move to the next page of the multipage dialog and follow the same procedure. IN this manner, you can move through all settings categories and see the available options.

Subject: [accesscomp] Columns in Open Book

Open Book, 6.02 started reading columns, firsrt the list of items and then the price column, instead of reading across the page so the cost of the item would follow the item. Help appreciated, Don
