the stone is different from the shuffle and other usb rechargeable devices in that it has a mini usb socket on the device and comes supplied with a short, approx 2 inches, usb plug to mini usb plug which you use for charging. a bit inconvenient in that you have to keep the cable with you if you want to charge on machines in different locations but does mean the stone doesn't need a removable usb plug cap like the shuffle 1st generation. and it's a more universal solution than the 2nd generation shuffles which require a very specialised craddle, at least with the stone you can use any mini usb plug to charge it. but this may mean it isn't compatible with mains chargers you already have for other devices. (It's worked perfectly this way for ages.) I'm wondering now if this will harm the Zen! <Smiles> Haven't dared to try yet as it's my husband's wedding anniversary present and he can't put it down! -- Carol carol.pearson@xxxxxxxxxxxx ----- Original Message ----- From: Robin <mailto:robin@xxxxxxxxx> To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, June 08, 2007 11:46 AM Subject: [access-uk] zen stone and mains charger Is there a mains charger for the zen stone other than charging it by an usb port on a computer. or could there be a charger with a usb like port for charging it, I wonder could a powered hub do the job.
