Hello,
Well, I'm sorry, but no. In US, the $ is 1-2-4-6, the ed sign.

Hi,

Well you're talking of UK Braille not US if 456 is the dollar. But in any
event, the underscore is wrong, and HIMS should be shot <Smile>.

All the best

u2 mini

If I use dots two-four-six with dot seven, then I get an underscore
according to the U2 speech when writing computer Braille. If I write dots
two-four-six without dot seven in computer Braille, it is a nine. If I
write dots four-five-six using computer Braille, I am told it is a dollar.
So if this is meant to be UK Braille, then is the underscore wrong?

And just to take it one step further, if I write an underscore on my PC
keyboard, my Braille display, an Alva BC680, shows up as dots four-six which
is why I said it was an underscore in an earlier message.

Confused or what?

Kind Regards,

Jackie Brown

Which version of braille are you talking about? In uk english braille, the
exclammation mark is 2-3-5, the underline is 4-5-6.

Hello,
Yes, the full stop is 2-5-6. The
exclemation is 3-4-5-6. If yes, the underline is in fact, 3-4-6.
The ing sign.

Hi,

Then that's some stupid code, not US or UK. UK Braille Period is dots
2-5-6.

Glad I don't have one of these, if it can't even support correct Braille for
the given language.

All the best

Hi,

Sorry about that, it's Dots 4-5-6 in UK Braille. If the U2 doesn't do it,
then it doesn't support UK Braille very well.

All the best

Hi,

If you have UK Braille set, it should be Dots 4 and 6.

All the best

Hi Julie,

I haven't time to look it up now, but I will try to do so tomorrow. Are
used to use it, but did have trouble with this one. Somehow it seemed that
it was a little bit suspect! Not quite sure why either! Anyway, I did get it
to work, and will look it up as soon as I can. If you don't hear from me
and don't get an answer, please write to me again tomorrow. I will look it
up!
Sorry I can't do it now!

Hi List

When I type u with space and the contraction for "ing" after it, the
braillesense doesn't seem to recognise this as an underscore sign.

So, does anybody know what I owd be typing in instead?

Best wishes, Julie.
