If you go to Voiceover Utility and then interact with the Utility table
you will find a section on speech. Navigate to the Voices tab and on the
pop up button for default voice select custom.
This will then make available a myriad selection of voices in a table
which you can enable by checking a check box next to that voice.
However a word of caution, I and other have found that using the
Scansoft voices like Samantha, Daniel etc can degrade the operational
speed of the Mac OS. This has been partially rectified recently but I
still find best performance is with Alex under Yosemite.
However enabling these voices may be useful for TTS purposes, so I use
for example Ghost Reader to create TTS audio books using the Oliver
voice provided with the Mac. you may also want to change to a higher
quality voice if you are using read all in an app like iBooks.
