Thing is, the engineers don't often look at the copies of software, they go 
on trust that you got proper copies etc.  Is it their job to look at each
bit of software they install?  They might have a morrel duty at best, but
their job is instillation, not product verification after all.-----Original

Hi Andy, when you contact Microsoft give them the guy's name and address if you have it. Microsoft are understandably anxious to clamp down on this sort 
of thing, and they would find the information useful, and may provide you
with a genuine copy. Another thing that occurs to me is what on earth was
the engineer thinking of, installing an illegal operating system.
