[access-uk] Re: the designers of UEB?

This is an assumption which is not true. Sighted people involved in the design of UEB are likely to be also involved in the teaching of Braille. It may not be perfect, but it does introduce some degree of logicality to a system which in its contracted form has grown up in a rather random fashion. The quirks of Braille are familiar to me as I have grown to them from the age of 5. I don't think it would have been quite as easy if I had been learning from age 50.

Why are sighted people designing a new braille code at all? They won't use it.

Hello all,
Just curious. The designers of UEB. Are they sighted or blind?
