How does one get the talks software into the cell phone? I've never seen a U
S B connection or anything like it.

Hello Peter,

The latest version of the Talks software, 2.50, has recently been
released and is part of the Nuance Accessibility Suite. Talks is the
screenreader using either Eloquence or Realspeak, Zooms is a new
package which magnifies the display from 1.5 to 16 times. It can be
used with Talks or you can purchase them separately. Talks 2.50
offers many improvements over previous versions. Also, if you
purchase Talks Premium, you have license to use five bonus
applications which have been modified for use with Talks and work
extremely well. for more information, to download the software and a
list of compatible phones, visit:

www.nuance.com/accessibliity

There is a news item about Nuance Zooms and Talks in February's
Access IT, available from RNIB.

Also, there is a UK-based mail list for Talks users. To join, send a
blank message to:

talks-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx

with subscribe in the subject line.

Finally, I have been a Talks user for about eight months, currently
using the Nokia 6600, and couldn't live without it. As has been said
by others on the list, it is great to have independent control of your
phone with your preferred settings and manage your texts, calls,
contacts and other functions. I am also on T-Mobile who have been
most helpful when I have asked for it.

Best wishes,

Clive Pallett
