Hi Hussein.

Excuse me for asking, but do you have any sight? I used to use dragon
naturally speaking with jaws 10, but one of the problems I found was that I was
unable to easily tell whether what I was saying was being accurately recognized
and therefore found rectifying any mistakes difficult. I can appreciate that
if you have some sight at least enough to use a computer, this problem doesn't
apply to you, but for totally blind people such as myself, we need additional
scripts such as JTools which is an inexpensive suite including a basic
interoperability with Dragon Preferred.

All the best, Ibrahim.

  Hi,

No, you don't need anything special to use the software. Just a microphone.
I use my Logitech webcam which also has noise cancelling and this works great.
But you could even use the computer's built in microphone, for example those on
a laptop.

Another option is to use a headset, but I've found unless this is a wireless
one you'll be tied to the computer. With the webcam I mentioned above, the
quality is such that I can continue dictating even when moving around my room
so I don't have to be directly in front of the computer. It's a godsend when
working on my novels, when I don't want to feel as if I'm working sitting in
the same place all the time.

  HTH.

Hi Hussein So if you use this do you need any thing else to go with it?
like I've been told some thing about a program for Jaws called JC to use
Dragone natural speaking software, If you don't then I'll be looking at
getting this program once more.

    Hi,

I'm not sure if you meant the subect as the actual title of the software so
I'll speak from my own experience in general.

I've had great success with Dragon Naturally Speaking 10. Earlier this
year both my hands were in splints for the best part of two months due to
suspected carpel tunnel syndrome. I used Dragon to dictate all my e-mails,
letters and some longer reports. The accuracy level is almost directly
proportional to the amount of training you do beforehand, as you have to let
the software get used to your voice and speaking patterns. But it works
wonderfully even for me with my totally skewed accent (one of the curses of
being a multi-linguist).

I believe you can get the basic edition for less than £100, although the
Preferred one is more expensive. I got mine cheaply when I was travelling
abroad, which also has multilanguage support, but if you don't need that than
things may well be cheaper.

There are undoubtedly other packages out there, but Dragon is one of the
better known.

    HTH.
