Hi all, many thanks for trying to help, we have found out that there is a corrupted system file that is coursing the computer not to boot up.

it still loads the drivers that windows has for usb sound devices and no drivers will be loaded in safe mode.
Even a hardware synth will not work under the NT type of windows in safe mode because the serial ports will not be addressed.
Someone just the other day suggested you might be able to connect to a box in safe mode from another machine if you had the full version of sa2go and ent thru the server network. i have not tried this out as I do not have a comercial license to sa2go. Maybe Steve Nut can comment on this use of sa2go.

I've never tested this but any tryed wacking a USB soundcard in whilst in safe mode?
Nar would work then as it's a plug and play device you've just put in would it not?

it will not.  Sound drivers are not included in safe mode.
