Hi Andy, I think I paid about 268 pounds for my Edirol, but I must admit, = listening to Michael Lang's review and demos, he even plugged a good Sound Professionals mic into that DS50 and it still sounded crap. The = Edirol's internals do better, and that's not right. Also, it can't even record = in MP3, it insists on recording in WMA, and yet they claim it is a Podcast machine? They are kind of joking I think. It is probably only ever = going to be any good for dictation in my view. All the best -- Computer Room Services: =20 the long cane for blind computer users. Unfortunately, I'd tend to agree with you regarding replacing the R09. = Neal Ewers said the same today in his latest demo on the DS50. I got mine = last week for =A3250. Still getting used to it but I quite like it thus far. = When I worked I needed to interview people at home or in the office and this machine would have been perfect for that. Even as a student, recording lectures then putting them straight onto your computer would have been = very cool. However, I was looking for a bit more quality with respect to recording, for out of door podcasts. Unfortunately, the stereo = microphone lets the DS 50 down badly. The Ederal R09 I believe, with a good = microphone would be a much better out of door device. How much did you pay for it Steve? And did you get it here in the UK? Best wishes.
