hi all,
i've come across a possibly really useful gadget that costs very little
on indiegogo that only has 8 days left in it's campaign and they will be
shipping at the end of november.
it's called the riimo and it's a tiny infrared transmitter that plugs
into the 3.5 headphone socket of any apple or android device and turns
that device into a talking remote control for virtually any device that
can be controlled by infrared.
and the most encouraging thing is that they specifically state on the
campaign page that it will work with all accessibility functions of
you're devices including voiceover, zoom, and switch control.
it costs 8 US dollars plus shipping which wont be much if you just buy
one of them as i ordered the pack of 5 for $30 and the shipping is only
$5.
they also come with a small adapter for it to slot into wich fits on
you're keyring for safe keeping when not in use.
steve will be glad to hear that although the campaign talks mainly about
apple devices and only says android will be coming soon in the comments
section that has been updated by the inventor to say the android app
will also be available when the devices are shipped in a months time.
the app is intelligent enough that when you choose which device you want
to control the only buttons that will appear on the screen are ones that
are relivent for that device.
